Thoughtful psychiatric care for adults navigating anxiety, mood concerns, stress, burnout, relationships, identity, and life transitions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of concerns do you treat?
I work with adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, addiction, life transitions, and stress related to work, relationships, or major responsibilities. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide specialty eating disorder treatment.
What can I expect during the initial appointment?
The first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation which lasts about one hour. We will review your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, prior treatments, daily functioning, and treatment goals. By the end of the visit, I will share my clinical impressions and discuss recommended next steps.
How soon can I be seen?
Most new patients can be seen within about one week, though availability may vary. Current openings can be viewed through the online scheduling portal.
Can I continue seeing my current talk therapist?
Yes. Working with an outside therapist alongside psychiatric care is welcomed and encouraged.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
This practice does not prescribe stimulants, benzodiazepines, or opioids. If these medications are central to what you’re seeking, this may not be the right clinical setting; the consultation can help clarify fit.
Do you accept insurance?
Most major insurance plans are accepted. For patients seeking out-of-network care, superbills can be provided for possible reimbursement through their insurance plan.
Who will I be working with?
You will work directly with Calvin Sung, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist. Dr. Sung (he/him) identifies as an immigrant and part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Do you provide psychotherapy?
Therapy-informed work is part of every visit. While many patients see me for medication management, appointments also include space to understand patterns, stressors, relationships, coping strategies, and treatment goals. Dedicated weekly psychotherapy may be available on a case-by-case basis depending on availability and clinical fit.
How do telehealth appointments work?
Appointments are held by secure video. Before each visit, you’ll receive a unique HIPAA-compliant Zoom link created specifically for your appointment, allowing you to meet privately from home, work, or another confidential space in New York.
